Miyu is a former member of the group AKB48. She passed her audition in 2009 and debuted as a full member in 2010.
In 2018, she participated in the Korean survival show, Produce 101. She finished the competition in 17th place.
She graduated from AKB48 in December 2018 and moved to Korea to pursue a K-pop career. She signed with Mystic Story in March 2018.
