Momoland were formed in 2016 by MLD Entertainment through the survival show 'Finding Momoland'. The top 7 contestants Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy debuted on November 10th, 2016.
Five months later, MLD added two new member, Daisy a former Finding Momoland contestant and Taeha, a contestant from the survival show, Produce 101.
The group soon saw fame due to JooE's viral Tropicana CF and the song 'Bboom Bboom'.
In mid-2019, Taeha and Daisy suddenly took an unexpected hiatus. There was no explanation for their disappearance until November 30th, when MLD announced that Taeha and Yeonwoo would be leaving the group, with Daisy's status still under discussion.
