Jessica Jung is an American singer, actress, and businesswoman. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. In 2014, she established her apparel fashion brand, "Blanc & Eclare". She is currently contracted under Coriel Entertainment.
Jessica was born in San Francisco, California. While on vacation in South Korea, she and her sister, Krystal were spotted in a shopping mall by S.M. Entertainment and joined the company in 2000. She spent seven years as a trainee before debuting as part of the Korean girl group Girls' Generation.
Jessica was the first SNSD member to be signed with SM Entertainment in 2000. In 2007, she was chosen as a member of the group Girls' Generation.
In August 2014, Jessica launched her own fashion line, Blanc, which was later renamed Blanc & Eclare.
On September 30, 2014, Jessica announced on her personal Weibo account that she was "forced out" of the group. SM Entertainment later confirmed this, stating Jessica would no longer be a member of Girls' Generation due to constant conflicts with the group's and Jessica's schedules, and Girls' Generation would continue to promote as eight members while the company would still manage Jessica's solo activities. Jessica also released a statement of her own, through her fashion company Blanc, explaining she was one-sidedly asked to leave Girls' Generation by the agency and members. Jessica's last released song with Girls' Generation is "Divine", released as a part of the repackaged version of their first Japanese greatest hits album, The Best.
On May 16th 2016, Jessica released her solo debut album 'With Love, J', with two lead tracks, 'Fly' and 'Love Me the Same'. The album was recognised as her first official return to the music industry following her departure from Girls' Generation in September 2014.
She made a comeback with 'Wonderland' on December 9th.
