In 2006, S.M. Entertainment recruited Luna after seeing her performing on a SBS's television program, "Truth Game". After training for more than three years, she became a member of a quintet kpop girl group, f(x) serving as the group's main vocalist and lead dancer.

She has one solo song, 'Don't Cry For Me', released in 2015 and has featured on many OSTs.
She has also acted in several musicals including 'Legally Blonde' as Elle Woods and 'High School Musical' as Gabriella Montez.
